Wall Types We Handle
Drywall Over Wood Studs
The standard wall in most homes built after 1970. Stud finder locates the framing, lag bolts hit center stud, and a 65 inch TV mount goes up cleanly in under an hour. The bracket gets pulled and tested before the TV touches it.
Plaster Over Lath
Concord, Manchester, and other older NH neighborhoods are full of plaster walls with wood lath behind them. We drill pilot holes with the right bit so the plaster does not blow out, locate framing through the lath, and anchor properly without cracking the surrounding wall.
Brick and Stone

Can you mount a TV over a fireplace?
Yes, but we walk through trade-offs first. Mounting over a working fireplace puts the screen high enough to cause neck strain and exposes the electronics to heat. We recommend a tilting or full-motion mount that drops the TV down for viewing, and we check mantle clearance and heat exposure before drilling. Stone, brick, and tile fireplaces all get the right anchors and bit for the material.
Do you provide the TV mount?
You can supply the mount or we can pick one up for you. We carry common fixed, tilt, and full-motion mounts that fit the major VESA patterns from 32 to 85 inch TVs. If you already bought one, we will check it is rated for your TV weight and VESA pattern before install.
Do you hide the cables inside the wall?
Yes. The cleanest option is in-wall HDMI and low-voltage routing with a recessed outlet behind the TV and a power passthrough kit. On exterior walls or walls with insulation conflicts, we use a paintable surface raceway that still looks far cleaner than bare cables. We explain both options on site and price them flat.
How long does a TV mount install take?
A standard wall mount install on drywall over wood studs takes 45 to 90 minutes. Add 30 to 60 minutes for in-wall cable routing, and more if it is brick, stone, or plaster, or if a soundbar and components also need wiring.
Will my TV fall off the wall?
Not when it is anchored properly. We hit the studs with lag bolts seated at least one inch into solid wood, never drywall anchors alone. After the plate is up, we yank on it hard in multiple directions before the TV touches the bracket. If anything moves, we fix it before the TV goes on.
What if I do not know where my studs are?
That is the job. We bring a professional stud finder, mark both edges of the studs, and verify with a small pilot before drilling. In older Concord and Manchester homes with irregular framing or plaster over lath, that step is critical and we do not skip it.
