Trim Carpentry
Window casings, door casings, chair rail, picture rail, and decorative trim packages. Tight miters, scarfed joints on long runs, and nails set and filled so paint goes on without telegraphing.
Crown Molding
Single piece and built-up crown installed on level chalk lines, coped inside corners where it counts, and scribed to wavy plaster ceilings so the line stays clean all the way around the room.
Baseboard Installation
New baseboard runs, replacement after flooring work, or upgrades from short builder-grade base to taller, more substantial profiles. Scribed to floors that have settled with age.
Built-In Shelving
Living room built-ins around a fireplace, office wall units, mudroom benches with cubbies, and closet build-outs. Designed to look like they were always part of the house, not bolted on.
Door Installation
Pre-hung interior doors set plumb and shimmed correctly. Slab swaps when the jamb is sound. Exterior pre-hungs with proper flashing and weatherstripping for New England winters.
Custom Shelving
Floating shelves, pantry shelving, garage storage, and open shelving cut from solid wood or pre-finished panel stock. Fastened into framing so they hold real weight, not just decoration.

What Carpentry Costs
Every project gets a written, flat-price estimate after a site visit, but the ranges below give a realistic sense of what carpentry work runs in New Hampshire in 2026. These figures include materials and labor for typical conditions. Unusual species, custom profiles, or significant prep work can push numbers higher, and we will say so up front.
- Baseboard and trim: $4 to $12 per linear foot installed, depending on profile height, material (MDF, primed pine, hardwood), and whether old trim has to come off first. Tall, profiled trim sits at the top of the range; standard 3 1/4 inch base sits at the lower end.
- Crown molding: $7 to $18 per linear foot installed. Built-up crown with multiple components, or runs on ceilings out of level, push toward the upper end. A standard 12 by 14 living room typically lands between $600 and $1,400.
- Door installation: $250 to $500 per pre-hung interior door installed, including basic casing. Slab-only swaps with no jamb change run $150 to $300. Exterior pre-hungs, with proper flashing and weatherstripping, run $700 to $1,500.
- Built-in shelving: Most living-room built-ins around a fireplace land between $2,500 and $7,500, depending on size, doors, drawers, and finish. Office wall units and closet build-outs follow a similar curve. Quoted per project.
- Custom shelving: Simple floating shelves start around $150 to $300 per shelf installed. A full pantry build-out runs $800 to $2,500 depending on depth, height, and material.
- Punch-list carpentry: Small repairs (loose handrail, sticking door, missing piece of trim) are billed at an hourly rate with a one-hour minimum. Many homeowners batch a list of small items into one visit for efficiency.

How It Works
Our Carpentry Process
Free Estimate
Justin visits the site, measures the room, looks at the existing trim or door conditions, and discusses materials and profiles. You get a written, flat-price estimate, usually within 24 hours of the visit.
Schedule the Work
Once the estimate is approved, we schedule a start date that works for you. Most carpentry projects land within one to two weeks of approval; larger built-ins may need a bit more lead time to source materials.
Execute the Project
Materials arrive, the room gets protected with drop cloths and dust containment, and the work begins. Justin shows up on time, keeps the site clean at the end of each day, and communicates if anything unexpected comes up.
